A Standard towbar (Class 2) has a tongue that can be removed from the towbar bu undoing two bolts. A Medium towbar (Class3) has a tongue that can be removed by releasing a pin. Usually they are 40mm x 40mm but some do altenatively have flat tongues. A Heavy duty towbar (Class 4) has a tongue that can be removed by releasing a pin and is usually 50mm x 50mm.
What does ‘ball weight’ mean?
The downward measurement of weight of the trailer/caravan applied to the towball. You can calculate this by taking the gross trailer mass (GTM) away from the Aggregate trailer mass (ATM) or you can use ball weight scales.
